Technical Advisory Committee

In order to provide for a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive transportation planning process, the Planning Commission appointed a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) whose members would represent designated agencies. The TAC is composed of nine members. The voting members of TAC include the Chair appointed from the Planning Commission, the City and County Directors of Public Works, the City/County Planning Director, the City Public Transit Administrator, the Assistant City Manager (liaison to the Aviation Advisory Board) and one representative from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT). One representative from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and one representative from the Federal Transit Authority (FTA) hold non-voting membership. The committee is charged with reviewing technical transportation issues and making formal recommendations to the MPO, the Lawrence/Douglas County Planning Commission.
