Transportation 2025
Transportation 2025 is the Long-Range Transportation Plan for the Lawrence Metropolitan Planning Area. This area consists of the City of Lawrence and surrounding lands around the City which fall within the jurisdiction of the Lawrence/Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Office.
The plan itself is a federally mandated document which requires the MPO to:
- evaluate the transportation deficiencies of the current system;
- plan for future transportation needs;
- develop a fiscally restrained plan with adequate alternatives; and
- further the development of a truly intermodal transportation system
