Draft West of K-10 Plan
The Planning Office has begun the process of developing a sector plan for the area generally west of K-10 and south of Hwy. 40 containing approximately 2,065 acres. Part of the planning area is east of K-10, south of Bob Billings Parkway to Clinton Parkway. Please see the planning area map below. This plan will help guide the city when making future land use decisions within the planning area when and if property is annexed into the city. This plan does not annex or rezone property. The plan will also help the public to visualize how the city intends the area to develop in the future. Planning Staff will be asking stakeholders and the public to participate in the planning process throughout the development of the plan.A second draft of the plan has been completed and is available below. Staff will present the revised draft land use plan at a public meeting on Thursday, August 7, 2008 from 6:30pm to 7:30pm at the Langston Hughes Elementary School, 1101 George Williams Way. Written comments regarding this draft are requested by August 13, 2008.

Draft K-10 & Farmer’s Turnpike Plan
The Planning Office has begun the process of developing a sector plan for the area generally around the intersection of I-70 and K-10 and to the east approximately 4 miles and containing approximately 4,075 acres. Please see the boundary map below. This plan will help guide the city when making future land use decisions within the planning area When and if property is annexed into the city. This plan does not annex or rezone property. The plan will also help the public to visualize how the city intends the area to develop in the future. Planning Staff will be asking stakeholders and the public to participate in the planning process throughout the development of the plan. Please see the plan timeline below.A revised draft of the plan has been completed and is now available below. The Planning Commission will continue the public hearing from their June 25 meeting and consider the revised draft plan on Monday, July 21, 2008 at their regular meeting which begins at 6:30 in the Commission Meeting Room at City Hall (6 E. 6th Street, Lawrence). All comments regarding this draft should be directed to the Planning Commission by the established deadline of 10:00 a.m. on July 21, 2008.
