The Commission will convene the PC meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the first meeting day to consider non-public hearing items, public hearing items, and miscellaneous items. On or before 10:30 p.m., the Commission will recess the meeting until 6:30 p.m. on the scheduled Wednesday meeting date. At that meeting they will consider public hearing items and any non-public hearing items associated with public hearing items. The Planning Commission by-laws establish the order in which items are considered on the agenda. Meetings are scheduled to end at 10:30 p.m. The Commission will announce during the regular meeting if an additional meeting will be held to complete the agenda and will state the date, place & time for that meeting.
A. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS: Rezoning requests, Special Use Permits (SUP) requests, Conditional Use Permit (CUP) requests, Text Amendments, and Preliminary Development Plans are considered public hearing items.
B. NON-PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS: Plats and Final Development Plans [that are in substantial compliance with approved Preliminary Development Plans], and Annexation referrals are considered non-public hearing items. Communications for non-public hearing items are received only in written form (see D below).
C. LOCATION FOR MEETINGS: The Planning Commission and the City Commission meetings are held in the City Commission meeting room on the 1st floor of City Hall, 6th and Massachusetts Streets (unless otherwise published). The Board of County Commissioners meetings are on the 2nd floor of the County Courthouse, which is located on the southeast corner of 11th and Massachusetts Streets.
D. WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS DEADLINE: Must be received in the Planning Office by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the first meeting.
E. DEFERRED ITEMS: New information or revised plans for deferred items must be submitted to the Planning Office for review by the submission dates established above to be placed on a future Planning Commission meeting agenda. [For example, additional information related to an item deferred from the February PC meeting will need to be submitted to the Planning Office by March 7th to be placed on the April PC agenda.]
F. SUBMITTAL DEADLINES FOR AGENDA ITEMS: Deadlines pertain to submittal of completed applications including fees, property owner list, and plan copies. Extensions will not be granted.*
